Demi Moore and Kevin Bacon Do Good in a Battle for Charity
I’m doing some incredible work as a web producer with Katalyst Films that I think you should all know about. Katalyst was chosen as one of the agencies to help launch a huge online campaign for the Pepsi Refresh Project. This campaign is definitely one that every activist and social media enthusiast should be involved in. Here are some details:
Demi Moore and Kevin Bacon are part of the Celebrity Challenge Pepsi Refresh launched on Feb 1, 2010. Pepsi is investing more than $20 million this year to fund great ideas, big and small, that move the community forward. People are given the opportunity to turn their ideas into reality and the public will choose where the grant money is given.
Can a soda change the world? Demi, Kevin and thousands of other people think so! Along with the many ideas submitted and voted for, both Demi and Kevin also have great ideas for changing the world and are campaigning to win grants for their charities (up to $250,000)! They’ve released videos with their ideas and are asking Americans to vote on their favorites.
Demi Moore wants to support GEMS (Girls Educational & Mentoring Services) for the Pepsi Refresh Project. The organization empowers young women between the ages of 12 and 21 who have been sexually exploited or trafficked. She wants to help them leave the sex industry. With $250,000, GEMS can train 10 former victims to become outreach workers go back in their communities to help refresh the lives of thousands of victimized girls. huffingtonpost
